DESCRIPTION

The work consisted of the full demolition of a 2 storey annexe building (Former Boxing Club).

The operations of the job were carried out as follows:

1) Site set up/Erection of site fencing and warning signs by principal contractor.
2) Site Welfare emplacement
3) Soft strip
4) Strip roof slates (with scaffolding)
5) Hand demolition down to suitable height for machine
6) Removal of scaffold
7) The mechanical demolition of the structure
8) Removal of slab and foundations
9) Cover with topsoil, level off

The annexe building was located on a corner of 2 busy streets in a residential area, therefore extra care was taken to protect the public and passing vehicles at all times and reduce noise and dust emissions where possible.

The works commenced on 28th February 2013, with a timescale of 4 weeks. The works were completed within the timescale, with no accidents, and our 90% recycling rate was met.
